WINDOW CORRECTION TABLES for MTP/ER2 SOLVE
Introduction
This web page shows the progression of WCTs for the MTP/ER2 during SOLVE. It will be updated as more flight data are analyzed.
Channel 1
Figure 1. WCT channel 1 shape based on RAOB comparisons for 2000.01.09, 2000.01.11 and 2000.01.14.
This figure shows three independent solutions for channel 1's WCT.
The blue dashed line is from a comparison of MTP observed TBs with RAOB-predicted
for 6 RAOB sites during the cross-country flight ER20000109, California
to Massachussets. The green dotted line is a completely independent
soultion for channel 1's WCT based on MTP observed versus RAOB presdicted
for 7 RAOB sites during the aborted Massachussetts to Massachussetts flight
ER20000111. The blue dottedline is based on ER20000114, the ferry
flight from Massachussetts to Sweden. It is gratifying that the three
shapes are similar. The lower scan angles seem to have a larger offset
than the mid and upper scan angles. The thick red line is a weighted
average suggested WCT for channel 1, which I adopt as WCT Version 0120.
Figure 2. WCT channel 2 shape based on RAOB comparisons for 2000.01.09, 2000.01.11 and 2000.01.14.
Same as previous figure except for channel 2. Again, it is gratifying that the three shapes are similar. The thick red line is a weighted average suggested WCT for channel 2, which I adopt as WCT Version 0120.
